Massage Could Be Top of Your List

Massage is one way of helping with thinning hair and lots of people do not yet realise the potential of massage to treat thinning hair. I aim to focus on massage as it seems one of the easiest Do-It-Yourself methods that is becoming more popular as people requiring hair loss treatment are more weary of putting more and more chemicals into their body. Many are now turning to more naturally healing hair loss remedies.

Using Massage as a Drug Free Hair Loss Treatment
As far as drug free hair loss treatments go, there never used to be a great deal to choose from but now, as people grow wiser to the effects of chemicals absorbed by the body and become more aware of drug-free treatments, we are able to find lots of hair loss remedies that can be used as solutions to hair loss in women and men.

Massage has very calming effects on the body as well as on the scalp. By using natural hand movements, a professional masseur is able to manipulate the layer of skin at the top of the head that is often neglected, and can stimulate growth of hair thus preventing thinning hair and some hair loss. We can even do this ourselves at home when using our usual shampoos and conditioners although you can find some extremely soothing organic and herbal treatment products for hair loss too that calm the scalp if it is dry or inflamed. Wella have a small range of products aimed at minor problems and can be easily used as hair loss remedies.

The soothing circular movements used in massage work in the same way as a body massage would (it gives us healthy looking and glowing skin) and encourages blood flow to the scalp. A healthy scalp is reflected in the hair itself which should be shiny and full, as the first sign of illness can normally be seen in our hair and skin, by carrying out a regular massage we can help with our appearance in addition to preventing minor hair loss.

Used before or after pregnancy, in ageing women and men, in some illnesses and especially stress, hair loss massage can be done regularly. Here are a few easy steps to add into your usual hair washing regime, if you can get someone else to oblige then even better! You can do this as often as you like, you will feel a difference after doing this regularly for around two weeks:

. Wet hair as usual
. Apply chosen shampoo or solution (medicated or speciality shampoo recommended)
. Starting at the nape of the neck, use your fingertips and thumbs to gently massage the scalp in small circular motions, try not to tangle the hair by concentrating on the the area at the roots
. Move around the scalp, not forgetting behind the ears, work out towards the hairline
. Try this action for one to two minutes before rinsing out the product
. Apply a scalp treatment if you can, or a speciality conditioner, try a gentle pushing and pulling motion all over the scalp again without tangling hair
. Avoid vigorous movements, always use gentle strokes or you will finish up with a sore scalp and inflamed skin

Please remember that we all lose small amounts of hair and this is natural. Massage will not totally prevent hair loss as it occurs naturally anyway. If you see extra lose hairs after carrying out massage, remember that you are manipulating the hairs that are inevitably going to come out. At the same time you are promoting a more healthy growth of new hair follicles, so instant results are not possible with massage.

With ageing and post-pregnancy and some illnesses it is usual to lose larger amounts of hair than usual but if you are concerned then consult your Doctor or Health Professional.
