Solutions and Hair Loss Treatment Unravelled
When I wrote this article, I did a simple google search to find out just how much information it would bring up. Countless times I entered websites with those promises that, although we refuse to believe the unfounded promises they make, we continue to read and then make purchases based on the information provided.
Now there are few regulated drugs and hair loss treatments that are actually allowed to be sold and promoted on the internet, I've compiled a list of do's and don'ts when it comes to you searching for your own hair loss remedy.
Do's and Don'ts
1. Don't listen to unfounded promises - plenty of cowboys can write down how a product may work, whether it has any basis is up to you to find out.
2. Definitely don't purchase a product before you know what that 'miracle ingredient' actually is, does and whether it is suitable for you.
3. Avoid buying any product from a website you have never heard of unless it is a trusted source of information.
4. Seek specialist advice where necessary, especially if you are concerned about loss of hair or balding.
5. Contact your doctor or a regulated website if you are unsure as to a particular ingredient.
6. Do your research into the product you are reading about before making any decision about buying.
7. Use links to websites for hair loss products, but only from a trusted website.
8. Look at drug-free treatments if your problem is minor.
9. For minor thinning and loss of hair, visit your salon that may have a cosmetic shampoo to help.
10. Take recommendations for hair loss solutions from your family Doctor.
11. Keep your appointment - if your Doctor has referred you to someone that can help your situation, go to the appointment - whether it is a skin specialist or other health professional, they will have the best solutions to female and male loss that you can find for your money.
Minor Hair Loss and Thinning
The simple fact that you may be suffering from a common condition is reason enough to visit your salon - some of the best companies like Wella, Kerastase, L'Oreal and Nioxin actually take on Trichologists to carry out research into certain ingredients and spend money on further research into how particular chemicals work. Although they sell a class of 'cosmetic' products, companies are only able to advertise their statistics in print if they have actually been tested. So, when you see that a brand is advertising in your favourite magazine or in your local superstore, their claims that sixty percent of users received improved results after six weeks then they are definitely one to try.
Major Hair Loss and Balding
If you are concerned that you or someone else is suffering from a severe case of hair loss, then please consult your Doctor and don't be frightened to do so. In most cases they can simply rule out any underlying, or more serious, cases and can help you improve your condition. If your Doctor cannot help, he or she may send you to a professional that is qualified in that field.
Do remember, although I want you to be reassured, that some cases of hair loss cannot be reversed but the earlier that you deal with the problem the earlier any imbalances can be detected.
Some cases that cannot be reversed are those balding or hair loss conditions that are genetic or age-related, or where scar tissue has formed as eventually, hair cannot grow back. In extreme cases you can opt for cosmetic surgery to improve the problem although this is an expensive and extremely drastic action to take before considering other options first.
